Information -- Schminformation, Enough Already!

We are drowning in it, our grey matter is swollen with it, half the time when we need a piece of it and we know it is "in there" somewhere, we can't access it because the poor Grey Matter Computer is so jammed it takes forever to search for the file and then it's usually "just lost" or was mistakenly deleted. And that's just our brains...what about our files, drawers, shelves, filled with papers, books, stuff.

Arrrgggghhhhh!

What the heck good is all this information if we can't use it? Or can't find it? Well, there is good news...

The INFORMATION AGE is slowly passing. Like the tail of a comet that appears, is visible for a time then gradually loses it's brilliance and fades from view. And in it's wake there arrives...

TA DAH...

THE INSPIRATION AGE!

Let's look at the word "inspire". It comes from the root words "in spirit".

"We have a responsibility to listen to and honor the siren calls of our Souls-too often silenced by our egos" -Lance Secretan, Author of "INSPIRE: What Great Leaders Do"

How much of the activity in your life is duty-driven? How much of the activity in your life is driven by passion? There is a world of difference between duty-bound activities and INSPIRED action! INSPIRATION propels you into the actions you love to do. In any segment of your life, if you do not love what you are doing 80% of the time, you are not living an On-Purpose life.

INSPIRATION is fueled by passion. What are you passionate about? If you can get in touch with this, you will have defined your life purpose. For most of us that is not easily done and is a good subject for Life Coaching. In the meantime, here are some ideas with which to start:

1. Write a list of things that are important to you. You will find that once you get rolling, you won't be able to write them down fast enough.

2. List 10 times you felt like a winner or things you are most proud of. Some should be from childhood.

3. What do you want people to remember about you?

4. What do you want to accomplish in your life before you die?

5. If a book were written about you, what would the title be?

6. Finish this sentence... "I want to make a difference by..."

Remember one thing...your purpose is not what you do (job), it is not your role in life (parent, spouse, teacher, etc.), it is why and who you are "in spirit". Your purpose can be fulfilled in any number of professions or roles.

If you find your INSPIRATION by answering the above questions, then WoooHooo, good on ya, mate! (I'm practicing my Australian). You will have discovered the driving force that propels you. Something will spark a flame, rev the idling engine, snap a piece into place and off you go.

You know, people want to be INSPIRED, people want to create, people want to connect. It's in our human-ness. In this new INSPIRATION Age, we will want to place ourselves in the company of people and events wherein taking action is the purpose. So much of Information is passive - reading, surfing the Internet, watching TV. Often we do nothing with it. While all of INSPIRATION is in passion-driven action.

I meet exhausted, duty-driven people every day. The most common phrase I hear is,"I'm just too busy." How on earth did we get into this state? We are suffering physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually with this lifestyle we created. We hear the advice "relax" and "just slow down." And who DOES that!? Slowing down a duty-driven life only prolongs the suffering while living a passion-driven life actually energizes you.

We ARE entering the INSPIRATION Age. Be ready! Get yourself On-Purpose and Love what you are doing 80% of the time!

What did you just say?.....Oh yes you DO! YES you do have time to honor who and "why" you are. Be open to the INSPIRATION that will compel you to make it happen.
